Picaresque literature
Use for episodic accounts of the adventures of an engagingly roguish hero. The adventures are often used to satirize the society of the day. Novels in this genre include Daniel Defoe's Moll Flanders, Henry Fielding's Tom Jones and Thomas Mann's Confessions of Felix Krull.
