tsunami
A fast-moving, large sea wave caused by submarine earthquakes, landslides or volcanoes. They can travel at up to 90km per hour in deep water and, as they approach coastal areas, can reach a height of 30 metres. These waves can cause serious floods in low-lying areas, resulting in loss of life and extensive damage to property.
