A systematic approach that uses a variety of techniques to reduce pest damage or unwanted vegetation to economically and socially tolerable levels. IPM techniques may include the use of natural predators and parasites, genetically resistant host, environmental modification and, when necessary and appropriate, chemical pesticides or herbicides.
