new economy

new economy
There are basically three different contexts in which this concept is used. In the first context new economy stands for all the facets of economic and social change triggered by the new information and communications technologies. In the second it is used to divide the economy into ""new"" and ""old"" industries. The third context is the heated debate about the explanation for the extraordinary economic development in the US where new economy describes the phenomenon of sustained strong but non-inflationary growth.
