Reductio ad absurdum

Reductio ad absurdum
The reduction to absurdity as a method of indirect proof argues that the denial of A (together with accepted propositions B1,B2…) leads to contradiction. The force of the argument resides in using premises that are far better established than the denial of A. Ther reduction to absurdity is equally a method of indirect disconfirmation.
