Latin American Free Trade Association
Refers to the former international association of Latin American nations, established in 1960, that was dedicated to improving its members' economies through free trade and a common market. Known as LAFTA, it was superseded in 1980 by the LATIN AMERICAN INTEGRATION ASSOCIATION (also a subject term).
