ScopeThe Dictionary of Knowledge Organization is a publication with six editions up to the present. The first one was a limited mimeographed edition in 1990 while the sixth edition was published in 2015 with the support of the Sectoral Commission for Scientific Research of the University of the Republic of Uruguay.
The main author of the Dictionary is Dr. Mario Barité, Full Professor at the School of Information and Communication, University of the Republic of Uruguay. The collaborators team of the sixth edition was composed by the following members: Stephanie Colombo, Amanda Duarte Blanco, Lucía Simón, Gabriela Cabrera Castromán, María Luisa Odella and Mario Vergara. This seventh edition turns the linear text of the dictionary into a database supported on TemaTres, and its preparation was in the hands of Prof. Diego Ferreyra of the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is, therefore, an effective collaboration between an Argentinian and a Uruguayan university in the field of Information Science, and especially in the field of Knowledge Organization.
The sixth edition, published in both, print and digital versions, can be accessed, consulted and downloaded at http://www.universidad.edu.uy/renderResource/index/resourceId/45887/siteId/3
