Auxiliary Verb
Auxiliary Verb
An auxiliary verb is a verb which:
- accompanies the lexical verb of a verb phrase, and
- expresses grammatical distinctions not carried by the lexical verb, such as
- person
- number
- tense
- aspect, and
- voice.
