application/x-corel-wordperfect
Corel WordPerfect is a word processing application owned by Corel. It was originally developed at Brigham Young University in 1979. Satellite Systems International (SSI) was formed in 1980 to sell it under the name WordPerfect. By release 5.1 in 1989, WordPerfect had become a standard in the DOS market. It was sold to Novell in June 1994, who then sold it to Corel in January 1996. The common file name extension of WordPerfect document files is .wpd. Older versions of WordPerfect also used file extensions .wp, .wpt, wp7, .wp6, .wp5, and .wp4.

The MIME name for Novell WordPerfect 5.1 (.wpd) prior to the Corel versions is application/wordperfect5.1. In the digital library use that format name only for WordPerfect files in version 5.1 (pre-1996)
