U.S. NTRL

U.S. NTRL
The new National Technical Reports Library (NTRL Public) is one of the world's largest repositories of U.S. Government-sponsored scientific research. It offers fast and easy access to more than 3 million titles, with links to over 850,000 corresponding digitized full-text technical reports making up the NTIS content collection. The NTRL is updated each week with newly acquired information, and recently digitized existing content. It is the most convenient and economical means of accessing the most comprehensive library of federally produced scientific and technical information available today.

The new NTRLvia public access platform provides improved navigation using faceted search (by Keyword, Source, Subject, Document Type, etc.); a variety of hypertext links (author name, descriptor, etc.); a powerful Advanced Search option. The fast and easy Quick Search interface is free and documents retrieved through the search can be downloaded.

Premium Individual Subscribers have access enhanced search capabilities (i.e. Author, Corporate author; Performing organization; Sponsoring organization; Publication year; Category code, etc.). The result is greater findability of specific reports. Premium subscribes are able to view and post document comments, save personal notes, save favorite documents, e-mail favorite documents, and create a bibliography through the end notes feature. They have access to five free full-text digitizations each week via the Digital-on-Demand feature. They can brand their site and get usage statistics that report number of logins, products viewed, and products downloaded.
Open NTRL started in October 2014 giving U.S. citizens free access to all electronically-available documents in the NTIS collection. Currently there are more than 850,000 documents digitized for free public access. Individuals also have the option to subscribe to the NTRL in order to benefit from the Premium features of the database, such as advanced search, more free downloads, and digitization-on-demand (NTRL Premium Institutional).
