In 2010, the Commission was chaired by M. Keith Prescott. Members of the Legislature serving on the TRC were Rep. John Dougall, Sen. Brent Goodfellow, Rep. Todd E. Kiser, Sen. J. Stuart Adams, Rep. The Governor Michael O. Leavitt Executive Order issued 1/18/2000 requested the Tax Review Commission to study and develop a plan for tax simplification, including particularly sales and use tax simplification; and the fair and administratively-sound reduction and eventual elimination of the sales tax on food, or other reductions in existing sales and use tax burdens, as additional revenues on remote sales are generated from taxes currently owed but not collected. The Executive Order required the Commission to give an initial report of its study by November 30, 2000.
