The Centers of Excellence Program is a State funded GRANT program developed by the Utah Legislature in 1986 to help accelerate the process of taking university-developed cutting-edge technologies to market, thereby driving economic development and creating jobs for Utahns. COE Sponsors the development and commercialization of technologies currently being researched at Utah's universities. Through Fiscal Year 2001, the Centers of Excellence Program leveraged a cumulative state investment of $33.7 million with non-state matching funds totaling $356 million.
