The UEHS is a publicly-funded high school, in operation since 1994,that provides online courses and diplomas to high school-age students within the State of Utah and is accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools. Courses in the Utah Electronic High School are free to Utah students. The Utah State Board of Education signed in agreement in August 2007 with The American Academy, a private, online high school based in Salt Lake City, to offer the Utah Electronic High School’s accredited diploma program to students seeking a high school education outside of Utah. Courses include lessons in the Navajo language.
