The Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office operates two correctional facilities; the Salt Lake County Metro Jail and the Oxbow Jail Facility. Salt Lake County’s Protective Services Division prides itself on meeting the diverse challenges of effective crime prevention by transitioning between law enforcement authority, prisoner management, government security and public service. In addition to the Corrections Bureau and Protective Services Division; the Sheriff’s Office is also home to Search and Rescue, the Mounted Posse, Human Resources and Fiscal Divisions. The Salt Lake County Sherriff's Office has over 1,100 employees and volunteers.
