Great Salt Lake Advisory Council
Provides advice to the Governor, the Utah Department of Natural Resources and the Utah Department of Environmental Quality concerning the sustainable use, protection and development of the Great Salt Lake. Board members of the Advisory Council include county commissioners, municipal officials, representatives of conservation groups and representatives of industries that use the Great Salt Lake.
The Great Salt Lake Commission recommended the formation of the Advisory Council, which was authorized in the 2010 legislative session through House Bill 343, sponsored by Rep. Ben Ferry.
